Maternity Clean Beauty Favorites

The reason I haven’t been posting as much is because I am currently expecting, and it has been one of the greatest surprises in my life. With the joys of new life also come the dry skin, random rashes, fatigues, nausea, and all the other things that come with along with it. Now that I’m 9 months pregnant with about 3 weeks left to go, I thought I’d round up some of my absolute favorite clean beauty products that helped me get through my pregnancy.

Biossance Squalene + Caffeine Toning Body Cream + 100% Squalene Oil

My absolute must have product for pregnancy is a great hydrating lotion. For me, it was this Biossance body cream. I had tried a few other lotions, some were “maternity” specific and some were not, but I always found myself getting dry and itchy throughout the day. This is the one lotion that I didn’t have that with, and I have gone through 4 tubs throughout the past 7 months. I know that stretch marks are mostly genetic, but I haven’t gotten any so far and I feel like this lotion is a huge part of that. If my skin is feeling extra dry, and also before bed, I also add a thin layer of the squalene oil on top of the lotion to help seal everything in. While I feel like a basted turkey, it keeps my growing belly from getting itchy or irritated.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

This is always on the top of any must have list for me, and pregnancy has been no exception. I got the travel size to be able to throw in my purse or take with me as needed, because you never know when you suddenly have a dry itchy spot or your skin feels tight, and this always does the trick. I also keep it on my nightstand for when my face feels extra dry or needs a boost, especially under my eyes since the insomnia has set in hard these days!  This was also one of the first things I packed to bring to the hospital with me as well.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

I tried to be as active as possible during my pregnancy, and one of my favorite things to do was go for walks outside. This also means a LOT of sunscreen whenever I go out, as my family has a history of skin cancer and sun safety  one thing I am very careful with. I love this sunscreen because it doesn’t smell, doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on my face, and my make up (if I wear any) sits nicely on top. I do always double cleanse my skin at night to make sure I get every bit off my face!

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm – Vanilla

Another one of my all time must haves, I honestly don’t even want to know how many tubes of this lip balm I have gown through. I absolutely love their new release Pink Sugar, it smells like a cupcake and has the lightest hint of pink and is the perfect shade for summer. But for me my go to will always be the clear vanilla, and I make sure to apply a nice thick layer before bed since I now feel extra dehydrated at all times.

Tower 28 SOS Daily Rescue  Facial Spray

One thing I did not expect from pregnancy was skin sensitivity, and the random rashes that like to pop up in the most inconvenient times. This spray is always the first thing I grab whenever that happens. I had first purchased this spray during the peak of covid, when my face would break out from wearing a mask all day. This helps calm and soothe and helps purify the skin, helping calm any irritation or redness my skin has. I have the full size bottle at home, and carry the mini version around with me in my purse just in case.

Briogeo Scalp Revival Dry Shampoo

I have always been a wash my hair every day kinda person, especially since my hair gets oily so fast. Now sometimes I feel like my gets visibly oilier even faster, and sometimes I don’t want to wash my hair and style it just to go out to dinner. Since I usually have fresh hair, I’ve never really used many dry shampoos but I fell in love with this one. It’s non aerosol and a powder formula, so it’s super easy for me to work through my hair.

Since most of my skincare/beauty products were clean prior to becoming pregnant, I really didn’t have to change my routines too much with a few exceptions. These products were mostly all part of my daily routine anyways, but they were definitely products I could not do without with past few months.
