Worth the Money – Bissell Little Green Machine

Like many pet owners, I absolutely adore my dog and think of her as my child. The one thing I don’t love? When there’s an accident in the house. Yes there are sprays and cleaners you can get, but especially on rugs and carpets I just felt like it wasn’t fully getting clean, but rather just covering it up.

I first saw the Bissell Little Green clean on Instagram, and was immediately intrigued. It’s small enough that it’s easy to carry around the house and use where you need it, and was the cost of renting a machine for the day from Home Depot. It has always been on my Wishlist, but I didn’t know if I’d actually use it, and kept putting off buying it. When I saw it on sale for Prime day, I ordered it immediately. Since having it for over a month, I truly don’t know why I waited so long to get it.

Before it arrived, my husband dropped coffee all over our carpeted stairs. It smelled so strongly of coffee and nothing could get it out. I knew this would be the first test of the Bissell Green Machine. The machine is SO easy to use. You add a little of the cleaning solution, fill the rest of the tank with water, and turn it on and start using it. It’s really that simple. And as quick as it was to set it up, it was equally as quick to clean up the coffee-soaked carpets. It’s disgusting, but the water coming out of the machine was dark brown, and was so satisfying to see. And the coffee smell was GONE after just one use of it, and we had been trying to get rid of the smell for days. That’s when I knew this was the right purchase. As efficient as it was to get the coffee stain out it was the same for puppy accidents, even ones that were a bit older and set in. I went a bit overboard and decided to deep clean every carpet/rug/upholstered chair in my house. Was it excessive and unnecessary? Sure! But I felt so much better knowing how much cleaner my house was.

Pros:
• The results are undeniable. For a small little steam cleaner, I didn’t know how much to expect, but it cleans so satisfyingly well.
• The size of the machine is so compact it’s easy to tuck away at the bottom of a closet, and take it out quickly whenever you need. It’s also super light and easy to carry around if you have stairs or multiple levels!
• The price of the machine is comparable to renting a machine, or even having a professional cleaner some to clean a couch. For the convenience of being able to clean anything anytime I want, its worth the price tag

Cons:
• The machine is way louder than I ever expected it to be, so keep that in mind! My husband has video calls for work, so this is something I have to be to use on off work hours or the weekend.
• While the size is a pro for storage and convenience of carrying it around, it does mean having to fill and empty the water tank more often. I cannot do more than one section/item of cleaning at a time without having to refill it.

For me the pros clearly outweigh the costs for this device. If you have a pet, kids, or are just a tad clumsy and have carpets or rugs in your house, this item is a must have for me!
