What I’m Shopping for Pre-Fall

Even though it’s still August, the weathers slowly starting to get cooler (I’ll take anything over a heat wave at this point), and my mind goes straight to pre fall fashion. By the time you need an item for the season you’re in, its often too late as many things are sold out! I’ve run into this enough times in the past, and if there’s anything in particular I’m eyeing I try to buy it as early as possible. Nothing haunts you like the things you didn’t buy!

Since I’m shopping for pre fall, I like to have items that I can wear now and transition into fall, and also items I can mix and match in my wardrobe.

These are the pieces I’m currently eyeing for pre fall:

A statement coat
• In my opinion no one does coats quite like Isabel Marant. Yes they’re a splurge, but the quality is amazing and a style like the one below is timeless and can be worn for years and years. I can wear it over a t shirt come fall, and layer it with sweaters and heavier items in the winter. I always make sure to get one that fits well and doesn’t overwhelm my frame too much, even when layered!
Boots
• While i already own a good amount of boots and booties, one pair on my wish list is a pair with a higher slim ankle for easy layering under wider leg pants and boots. A style like this will also look great with a sweat dress, with leggings and a sweater, making them very versatile.
Modern ballet flats
• Since going back to the office, I’ve been choosing shoes that are comfortable to wear to work, but want a pair with a stylish twist. The pair of Loeffler Randall flats below have the woven texture to add a fun twist to an otherwise slightly boring silhouette.
A sweater vest
• I love how transitional a sweater vest is. You can wear it alone during the warmer months, and layer it with a button down underneath during the colder months. I love this striped version to pair with jeans, or even leather like leggings!
A cardigan
• As much as I love sweaters, I also love cardigans since you can wear them several ways. I love wearing them over a t shirt, a lacy tank, a slip dress, or just draping it over my shoulder. With all of the buttons buttoned, you can also wear it in place of a sweater, getting you multiple looks with one piece. I also love that I can layer it and take it on and off as I get hot or cold!
A great pair of jeans
• I own more than enough pairs of jeans, but I just love the raw hem on the Agolde Riley pair. They’re a straight leg which I don’t own many of, and are the perfect shade a blue to dress up or down. They are cropped, so they would hit full length on me, so I wouldn’t have to hem the details away!
