Nordstrom has an “Anniversary Sale” every year where their new fall items are on sale for a limited time, and after the sale is over the items go back to full price. The sale is open to Nordstrom credit card holders first, and also goes in order of spending tiers (aka the more money you spend with them the earlier you can shop). The became open to the public on 7/15 and ends on August 1st, and with the Nordstrom card you could shop starting as early as 7/6.
I personally am not the biggest fan of the Nordstrom sale. I don’t have the credit card so I can’t shop early, and most items tend to sell out before the sale is open to the public. I also think compared to other sales and promotions that deals are not that great, and the quality of some of the items seems cheaper than normal. Instagram influencers also push a ton of products for the sale, and it becomes so much being pushed at you it becomes off putting. The number of items in the sale is extremely large, making it very time consuming to go through. I also find that there are not many new items each year, and its many of the same styles year over year.
That being said, there were a few items I picked up this year.

The sweater by La Ligne is the perfect easy sweater to wear to work or the weekends. The collar detail adds a preppy twist to a regular striped sweaters, and the black and tan stripes keeps it neutral and transitional between seasons. Even on sale it’s still a bit of a splurge, but the quality of the sweater is super nice and I know it will be able to wear it season after season. The reviews online complained that the sweater was cropped, but being petite I found it hit me in a great spot on my waist, with the perfect amount to do a front tuck! While not a fun or a glamours purchase, the no show socks are one of the favorite things I bought. They come in a pack of 3, and in 3 different colors so you can pick fits your needs best. I love wearing lower cut sneakers, and these socks don’t slip off during the day which is so hard to find with no shows!! The last thing I purchased was not for me, but rather my dog. I have a smaller dog that gets cold in the winters, and loves to be warm in little sweaters. I saw these Barefoot Dream ones and just couldn’t resist. My intention was to keep only one, but the quality and fit was great, and I know she’ll wear them often once the cold weather hits so it’s worth it to spoil my pup!
While things sell out very fast on the sale, i find it’s always worth checking back often to see if they restocked. I will often favorite any items in interested in, and set the notifications to let me know about any restocks. The La Ligne sweater was sold out when the sale was open to the public, but I was able to snag one in my size when they restocked a days later! People also tend to order things in multiple sizes and then return, so it’s worth checking back in throughout the sale if theres something you really love.
