Rhode Skincare Review

Hailey Bieber has always been one of my style icons, but she is also such an inspiration for her skin and make up as well. She never looks over done, just healthy and glowing. Her “glazed donut” approach to her skin is something I love, letting your skin shine through in a healthy way. When I first heard she was coming out with a skincare line, I didn’t know what to expect. So many celebrities have been coming out with make up or skincare lines, it’s hard to keep up. But after hearing her talk about it and looking more into it, I couldn’t wait to try it.

The whole idea behind Rhode is making clean skin care simple and affordable. It was created with dermatologists, and is safe for sensitive skin while being non comedogenic, and non-irritating, cruelty free, and vegan. Besides the lip products, everything is also fragrance free. Everything is also priced under $30, which is amazing and definitely caught my attention.

The first Rhode launch consisted of three different products, the Peptide Glazing Fluid, Barrier Restore Cream, and the Peptide Lip Treatment. I purchased 2 of the 3 to try, and once restocked I will definitely buy everything I can.

The first thing I noticed when my package arrived was the box it came in. It came in a special shipping box called a Boox Box, that is a reusable shipping box. It comes with a QR code that you simply scan, and it shows you where you can drop it off to be reused. I LOVE this. I hate ordering online and having things come in separate boxes, and having so much unnecessary waste. Since Rhode is only available online, I have no choice but to order online but this makes me feel so much better about the brand. The packaging that the products come in are also upcycled and recycled.

The products themselves are more than I expected. Since they are priced so well, I was a bit skeptical of the products. While the products are smaller sized, a little goes a long way so I see them lasting a while. I have been using the Barrier Restore Cream and the Peptide Lip Treatment for a few days now, and I’ve noticed such a difference in my skin. The description of the cream says that it is rich but light weight, and helps restore the skin’s barrier and help deliver smoother, softer and more hydrated skin over time. It literally is exactly that. I had a few patches of dry skin on my face, and after a few days I’ve noticed that the patches are now minimal. I also noticed my skin just looks healthy and glowy, and I haven’t changed anything except using this cream. I do only use it at night, and use a lighter moisturizer during the day.

The lip treatment was the product that surprised me the most. I am VERY loyal to my Summer Fridays lip balm, in the past few years I have easily gone through at least 5 different tubes of it. This one will also now be added to my rotation. The packaging is smaller, making it easy to throw in any bag and carry around. The applicator is also smaller, making it easy to apply the product precisely. It’s not sticky, but ads a very shiny look to the lips. I also found that it stays on very well, even after drinking coffee or water it doesn’t slide right off.

The collection was quick to sell out, but I added myself to the waitlist for the peptide glazing fluid which I will be purchasing immediately once it’s restocked. Adding it before my moisturizer will bring a level of hydration I can’t wait to try. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by this collection, and can’t wait to see what else comes out!
