Summer Hair Favorites: Accessories

As much as I love my Dyson Airwrap, when it gets warmer I get a little lazy with my hair. It’s too hot to blow dry and my hair gets a little frizzy, and I also like being able to keep my hair out of my face and off my neck.

There are a few hair accessories that are must haves for me to help style my hair in the summer that are all super easy to use and looks like you put way more effort than you actually did.

Scrunchies

While Y2K is trending, I’m not talking about the giant colorful scrunchies. I love using scrunchies with a bow or tie details to help give your hair a playful twist. I use them for buns, a half up look, or securing a braid. It helps makes you look more put together, even if you’re just throwing your hair up to do the dishes. I always pick some up every time I go into Free People, they’re such a great price and have a ton of different prints and styles to choose from.

Claw Clips

These are such a great piece to just throw in your bag, and keep the hair out of your face when you need it. I like to get the ones with rubber grips on the inside (the ones you can pick up at any drug store) so they don’t slip out of my hair. I also love the hair clips from Emijay, they are so well made and absolutely stunning and are like little works of art.

Invisibobble Hair Elastics

I have tried similar products, but nothing beats the Inivibobble ones. They keep your hair in place, and you can get colors to match your hair (or even clear), to really blend in with your hair. It doesn’t snag your hair, doesn’t leave creases when you take it out, and keeps your hair in place without slipping out. If it stretches out, you can run a hair dryer over it and it’ll shrink back to its original size. I always keep one on my at all times because I cant be without one!

Spiral bobby pins

This is such a great little hair accessory that I think is severely overlooked. It helps keep your bun in place if you’re wearing your hair up. I used it to hold my hair in a bun during 98 degree heat, and it didn’t budge. Unlike regular bobby pins, you don’t have to worry about them popping out! They don’t pull when you take them out either, making them such a game changer.

Hair accessories are a great inexpensive way to switch up your look, and help keep you cool for the summer!
