Worth the Money? – Bala Weights

Before my wedding last year I was working out almost every day, sometimes even twice a day. Nothing too crazy, just a barre or Pilates class, followed by a long walk. But as the weather got colder, and the longer I went without working our regularly, it was harder to motivate myself to get back into it. I don’t like going to the gym, and prefer to do work outs at home. While I was looking for work out equipment online, I came across Bala. They make work out equipment that is functional but more aesthetically pleasing than traditional work out equipment. They come in fun colors, and have the best feeling slightly rubbery material.

The first product I bought from them was the bangles. They’re slimmer than anything else I could find, and adjustable to be able to use on your wrists or ankles. Perfect for me to throw on and go for a walk. After using them for a while, I was obsessed. They were cute and fit easily into my lifestyle, and I wasn’t embarrassed to be caught in public with them on.

Since starting to get back into a more regular workout routine, and finding workouts that I actually enjoy, I wanted to expand my home gym equipment. I knew I wanted to get more Bala weights, because they made me excited to work out and I could leave them out in my house and not stress about it. They also are easy for me to hold and carry, which is very important to me being petite. I didn’t want anything too bulky and awkward to use!

Bala weights are definitely more of a splurge than other workout equipment. The Bangles are priced at $50, and the starter set with the bangles, weights, and the weighted power ring runs at $190. I was lucky enough to find all my items at a discounted price, but that’s also how I ended up with random colors. For me the pop of color with the pink adds a fun touch, and I’m not too picky about the colors and cared more about having the product at a more affordable price. I’m not sure if I could justify the prices full price with how much I work out but it may be worth it to you! I do love all of the items I have from them, especially knowing they will last a long time. Other retailers do have certain colors or older styles for less, so I recommend looking around a bit if you want a deal!
