Worth the Money? – NuFace

I first saw NuFace on Instagram when one of the bloggers I follow posted about it. I was instantly intrigued, and had to go look into it. NuFace is facial toning device that uses micro currents to help “rejuvenate and improve” your appearance. Basically it helps lift your face and helps with the appearance of winkles as well.  It also helps stimulate blood flow to help your skin glow. I first thought it was just another product with crazy claims, but after watching people on IG use it and seeing their results, and looking online and seeing great reviews, I really wanted to try it for myself.

The regular Nuface is $339, and mini is priced at $209 full price. For me, I could not justify paying this price for something I didn’t really need in my routine, and especially since I didn’t know if I would use it. Over the holidays, I found a Mini NuFace at Nordstrom Rack for $100. This was a price I could justify spending. I thought of it as the price of a facial, but I could do at home at any time. I didn’t feel the need for a full size for something new, and the mini is cute and happens to fit my face perfectly. Mine is a mint green color, but for a $100 off I was fine with that! The regular device you can get different attachments for, the mini you cannot.

Because the NuFace uses micro currents, you HAVE to use a special gel when using it. This means even though you bought an expensive device, you also have to buy additional skincare with it, which means it’s more of a long-term investment. While my device came with a gel, I also purchased another one separately that I saw was better for sensitive skin. It’s important to also use enough gel, or else you can feel the currents and it’s not a pleasant feeling.

The most important thing to note about the NuFace is you have to be consistent with it. You cannot use it every once and a while and expect results. When you first start, its recommended you do 5 days a week for the first 3 months, and then drop to 2-3 days a week after that. That’s quite the commitment. To be honest, I am not the best at being consistent with it. But when I do use it, I definitely notice a difference. My cheekbones pop more, and my jawline looks more defined. Would I spend $300 to get a full size device? No, because for me it’s just not worth it. I’m happy I spent the $100 for the mini, and will continue to use it. If you are someone that is good about keeping up with using it, I do recommend it since you do see results! But I would wait to find at Rack since they do always have them for almost half price, as long as you don’t care too much about the color.
