Casual Sneakers (That aren’t Golden Goose)

If you scroll on Instagram, it’s hard not to see those distressed sneakers with the stars all over your feed. They’re beautiful, but they’re expensive and they’re everywhere. While I have always wanted a pair, I just couldn’t justify the $500+ price tag for a pair of sneakers. They are on my wish list, and if I ever find a pair on sale I’ll grab the in a heartbeat!! I love casual sneakers for running errands, and going on walks with my pup, and I need them to be comfortable, but also cute.

These are my favorite casual sneakers that I personally wear and love.

  • Veja Esplar Sneakers: These sneakers are slim and minimalist, and will go with any outfit. The tongue is a bit stiff and does need to be broken in a bit, but over the shoe is very comfortable! I went for an all white pair, but they come in a variety of colors as well! They also have many different styles to choose from.
  • Nike Blazer Low: This shoe has been my go to sneaker for years, and I own a few different color ways. I own a pair of Air Force 1s and I love the look, but they are heavy and not ideal if you are walking a lot. The blazer low are a slimmer, more streamlined shoe, and have a thinner sole.
  • Re/Done 80s Basketball Shoe: Since the first day I put on these sneakers, they were extremely comfortable and immediately a go to. Since I own so many plain white sneakers, I got a bit more of a colorful pair with tan and red details, but they’re still extremely wearable and look great paired with jeans and even leggings. These are expensive, but shop around for sales!! I snagged mine for around $125.
  • Vince Blair Slip on Sneakers: These are definitely more dressier than a lace up shoe, but they’re still one of my favorites. I got my first pair of Vince slip on sneakers almost 10 years ago, and over the years I’ve repurchased them in various fabrics and cuts (slip on, high rise, suede, leather, etc) because I get SO much wear out of them and they’re so easy to slip on and go out the door.

I know there are a ton of other classics that people love, like Vans, Adidas Stan Smiths, and Converse Chucks. I have actually owned all of those at some point or another, but they were just never my go to shoes. Everyone’s style preferences are different as well, these are just some of my personal favorite!
