The second the warmer weather starts hitting in, that’s the best time to start buying things to add to your spring wardrobe. By the time you actually want to wear them, a lot of the times staples are slim pickings because many things are already sold out.
Every year I usually buy a few “staple” pieces to add to my wardrobe in the spring, but try to stick to versatile items that I can wear past spring into summer or even through fall.
Below are my items on my list this year that are all staples and can be mixed and matched:

- White T shirt
Plain white t-shirts are always a must have, especially when they’re a clean crisp white. In order to keep my wardrobe form being too boring, I love looking for white t-shirts with a little twist. It could be a rolled sleeve, a cut out neckline, a bolder cut shoulder. Just a little extra detail that sets it apart. A white t-shirt also makes the perfect back drop to layer necklaces with!
- Denim shorts
Jean shorts are on my list every year, because I usually only end up finding one or two pairs a year that I love. They’re such a great spring staple to easily layer, but also wearable in summer. I can’t wait to pair them with a t-shirt and blazer, I absolutely love the look paired with moto boots, sneakers, or sandals. It’s polished and looks put together, but still easy and effortless.
- Neutral sandals
Every year there’s a new “it” sandal that comes out. Rather than get what’s trending, I love to stick to a neutrally colored flat sandal. That way I pair them with everything in my wardrobe, and as a bonus neutral colors will help lengthen the legs (just avoid ankle straps).
- Blazer
I always think a blazer is a classic, especially spring. I use it in place of a jacket, thrown over a white tee or even a printed one, or a crop top to balance out proportions. It makes any outfit more polished, and will never go out of style! To make it stand the test of time, stick to more classic styles and prints (avoid the trend of the moment prints like tie dye, or super padded statement shoulders). Below are some ways I love it styled:

- Day to night dress
Everyone’s style and body shapes are different, so they dress styles can vary person to person. But the purpose of the dress can remain the same. I always look for a dress I can wear during the day with sneakers or sandals, but could dress it up with heels for a date night. For me, it’s a shorter dress with a smocked waist. I absolutely love the dresses from Misa Los Angeles, the prints are so fun yet not too trendy, and go perfectly from casual to dressy. I love a great floral print, groundbreaking I know, but it’s a classic for a reason! To keep it from being too girly you can pair it with a leather jacket or some sneakers.
The best part about shopping for a spring wardrobe is you know warmer weather is right around the corner!!
