I do not usually wear a lot of make up on a day-to-day basis, and I definitely go for a more natural look in the summer. Since I’ve been working from home (and expect to for at least the next few weeks/months), the only face to face I have with anyone is through teams or zoom calls. I definitely want to look good for my virtual meetings, but that doesn’t mean I need to put on a full face of make for a day at home. I’ve been using a few products that allow me to get ready in about 5 minutes that are super quick and easy, and still make you look put together. The trick for me was to find super blendable products that you can apply with your fingers (the easiest make up tool). This is also perfect for days you overslept that you just need to get ready super quick, or you’re days when you barely need any make up at all.
My must haves for a quick put together make up look are: cream/liquid blush, concealer, brow pencil, mascara, and lip balm (if I’m feeling extra I’ll add in some shadow but it’s not a must!)
Below is the list of a few of my favorites for each category.

Blush: I love adding a bit of a creamy blush to bring a little more life to your face, and add a extra color and glow.
- Glossier Cloud Paint
- Nars The Multiple (you can use it for your eyes and lips as well!)
Concealer: If I were only allowed one make up product to use, it would probably be concealer. It easily hides any imperfections without being too much, and can make you look like you got a full night sleep even if you stayed up a little too late binging on a show on Netflix. I love lightweight concealers since they are more bendable and don’t look out of place without foundation.
- Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer
- Glossier Stretch Concealer
Brow pencil: I have a few sparse spots in my brows, so I feel more confident when I fill them in a bit. If I’m feeling like my brows need a little more help, I’ll throw on some brow gel on top to give them a boost.
- Anastasia Brow Wiz
- Benefit Precisely, My Brow
- Glossier Boy Brow (for when extra brow love is needed)
Mascara: A curl and mascara goes a long way for lashes because it really opens up the eyes. If I’m going out I’ll usually layer a few different mascaras for extra length and volume, but these days one layer is more than enough.
- It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof
Lip Balm: This is also one of my ultimate must have products. I will always carry around at least two lip products with me at all times, and the easier to apply the better.
- Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm
- Glossier Balm Dot Com
BOUNUS PRODUCT – Eye shadow: If I have an important meeting (virtually) or feel like I need some extra sparkle, I’ll add a bit of shadow on my lids. I love the cream sticks since you don’t need any blushes, and its so easy to blend with you fingers and build it up if you want!
- Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Shadow
- Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick
It seems silly, but only using these few products for the past few months have made me feel more confident in my own skin, and showed me that I don’t really need a ton of products to feel my best. Confidence is gained slowly, and this was one small way to help grow mine.
